Can I use sunscreen as body lotion?
Technically yes, but it is not ideal as a direct replacement for body lotion. Sunscreen does not provide the same moisturising effect as a dedicated body lotion, and applying sunscreen over dry, unhydrated skin is less comfortable and may result in uneven coverage. Ideally, apply body lotion first, allow it to absorb briefly, then apply sunscreen on exposed areas.
Body sunscreens are designed to protect, not primarily to moisturise. That said, some sunscreens include moisturising ingredients and can double as a light hydrator for certain skin types. If you are outside and need to apply something to both protect and hydrate in one step, a sunscreen with a rich texture or built-in moisturising ingredients works reasonably well. For daily use, pairing a good body moisturiser with a dedicated body sunscreen on exposed areas gives you the best results from both functions.
