Which sunscreen is best for the whole body?
For the whole body, you want a sunscreen with SPF 50 PA++++ in a format that spreads easily and absorbs comfortably over large areas. Lotion and spray formats work well for body application. Look for a formula that does not leave a strong white cast, absorbs reasonably quickly, and does not feel sticky once dry.
Body sunscreens tend to be in more economical formats than face sunscreens since the quantity required is much larger. A 200 to 300 ml bottle is a practical size for regular full-body use. Water-resistant formulas are useful if you will be swimming or sweating heavily, but they still need to be reapplied after two hours or after getting out of water. Mineral body sunscreens tend to leave more of a white cast given the larger application area, while chemical formulas generally absorb more smoothly across the body. Choose based on your preference and activity.
