How to apply sunscreen to body?

For full body coverage, apply sunscreen to all exposed areas including arms, legs, the back of the neck, chest, and any other uncovered skin. A general guide is about one full shot glass (35 ml) for complete body coverage. Apply before dressing for outdoor activity and reapply every two hours when in direct sun.

Body sunscreen is often underused because of the amount required for effective coverage. The 35 ml guideline covers an average adult body, but many people apply far less. Pay particular attention to areas often missed: the tops of feet if wearing open footwear, the backs of the hands, behind the knees, and the nape of the neck. For a typical day with limited outdoor exposure, applying sunscreen to any visibly exposed areas in the morning is a practical approach. For beach days or extended outdoor activity, more thorough and frequent application is important.
